Earthquake in Italy (written by Roua Ghailan 6th grade)

Last Sunday,at 7:40,central Italy was shaken by an earthquake of 6.5
magnitude. It shook for several seconds houses in central Rome and
other cities such as Florence or Naples.
This natural phenomenon already has happened several times in these
locations but never had the strength of this time. There are no news
of fatalities, although there are some injured people.
The magnificent Basilica of St. Benedict in Norcia, has  collapsed.
Nearly 5,000 residents of the town of Norcia, especially affected by
the earthquake, are anxious and fearful because the land does not
stop shaking. The access to the city center has been closed. Numerous
buildings and churches have collapsed or suffered major damage. Three
days earlier, two earthquakes (one magnitude 5.4 and another 6.2.)
They shook the province of Macerata in the Marche region.
What's going on? Why is this happening? Will climate change?
 Scientists and people from all over Italy are wondering what is happening 
with the ground …

Hurricane Matthew (written by Carla Muñoz 6th grade)


Hurricane Matthew was the fourtheenth storm on the hurricane season in the Athlanthic in 2016. It reached the Fifth Hurricane Status. Matthew became a powerful category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.


It has been a dreadful hurricane because a lot of people have died and many others have had to leave their destroyed houses.

The famous singer Shakira has been very kind and generous and she has donated millions of euros. Well done Shakira!
